Getting to know Stacey Goodwin
We are now moving onto the second session of getting to know some of the EPIC Restart Foundation team, and next up we have Stacey Goodwin.
Stacey joined the foundation as an associate in 2022 after having been the first female through the programme in 2021. Stacey is well know in the gambling harm recovery space and has helped thousands of people through her social media channels and is also the author of The Girl Gambler.
Stacey's recovery started when she attended the retreat in counselling with Gordon Moody, and remains eternally grateful to them for the foundation they helped her build to get over her gambling addiction. After a few years of abstinence Stacey joined EPIC Restart Foundation and thrived whilst working with her mentor Steve Ramsay.
Stacey states " Gordon Moody taught me the tools to stop gambling, EPIC Restart Foundation give me tools to life my life again".
About the speaker
Stacey suffered with an addiction since the age of 18 that spanned for the next 8 years of her adult life, missing out on opportunities to grow and understand important things that she could have been learning throughout these years.
Stacey's addiction started whilst she was just a girl, hence the alias 'the girl gambler. Stacey now supports many women going through the same reassuring them they are not alone, as women do suffer with this addiction too but can also recover and live life to the fullest once again.
